USAID promotes gender equality and improved health through The Half The Sky Movement mobile games

November 15, 2012 - WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) launched three mobile phone games through its public-private partnership with the Half the Sky Movement. C-Bulletins assist development of communication materials for low literacy audiences
October 31, 2012 - Growing out of experiences of creating and adapting communication materials for audiences with lower literacy skills, including difficulty reading, C-Change developed the C-Bulletin series. The C-Bulletins comprise an Introduction and 10 topics that draw on the field experiences of C-Change professionals and partners. Read more

USAID promotes gender equality and improved health through the Half the Sky Movement


Sept. 13, 2012 - Today, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as part of its continued support of women, girls, and families launched a series of 18 short educational and advocacy videos aimed at increasing global awareness and bringing about social change for critical health, and gender equality and empowerment topics.
Through the FHI 360-managed C-Change project, USAID provided support to the Half the Sky Movement, a multi-donor, multimedia platform developed by Show of Force in collaboration with Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn and in partnership with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and the Independent Television Service (ITVS). The Half the Sky Movement is based on Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn’s best-selling book, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide. Read more
Roll Back Malaria Partnership launches Strategic Framework for Malaria Communication in Arusha
Tanzania’s Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, announced the launch of the Strategic Framework for Malaria Communication at the Country Level, at the Roll Back Malaria East African Sub-regional Network (EARN) meeting in Arusha, Tanzania, on September 5:
“The Strategic Framework is the result of more than six years of work by countries, partners and other stakeholders to chart out a framework for better integrating communication into malaria control as well as chart out a research, implementation and evaluation agenda for the next five years."
